Making VoIP Calls from any PSTN Phone

Making VoIP Calls from any PSTN Phone

Choose your VoIP provider

1. Find the provider/providers you want to use

2. Note down the details (username, password, port, and proxy server)

Setting UP a VoXalot account

1. Go to VoXalot.com

2. Sign up for a free VoXBasic Account

3. Once done, log in and make sure you turn off voicemail

4. You are done with VoXalot

Set up at PBXes

1. Sign up for a free PBXes account

2. For the Purpose of this guide, I'll be using 123456 as my VoXalot number.

3. We start when you hit this page:

4. Under Trunks, add your VoXalot account as a Sip Trunk (see below):

5. Still under trunks, add the providers you plan on using as SIP Trunk following this:

6. Notice, most providers will be fine with "no (just outbound calls)" in order to make calls, some may require you register to even make calls though, so if you are having problems making calls later, this is the place to look at.

7. Now under Inbound Routing set this up

8. Next under Outbound Routing set up rules for each of your providers (I'll be using VoiceStick):

9. The dialing pattern 994|X. means if I dial 9944161112233, it'll route through VoiceStick (uses the 994 to determine this), then it will dial the rest 4161112233. If you will only be using one SIP provider and don't want/need to set up a code like 994, you can just enter X. and all the numbers you dial will be routed though that provider, and dialed as you put them in.

First Test

1. Call one of the SipBroker Access Numbers that is local to you.

2. When prompted enter *010-123456 (replace 123456 with your VoXalot number)

3. Now you'll be asked to enter your password, enter PIN Number from PBXes then # (in this example 1234#)

4. You'll hear "Thank You" and you'll get a dial tone, an open line.

5. Start dialing, in this example to call 4169391133 via VoiceStick, I would dial 99414169391133

Adding another provider like TPad for even more Access Numbers

1. Under Trunks, add a new SIP Trunk (I'll be adding TPad)

2. Under Inbound Routing add this (for TPad in this case):

3. That is all:

Now call a local TPad Access Number

Enter your TPad number when prompted

Enter your password (1234# from this example) when prompted

You'll hear "Thank You" and an open line

Now simply dial, in this example to call 4162361122 using VoiceStick, one would dial 99414162361122

Other Providers

If you have another provider that gives you access numbers, or a DID number that you want to use for this, follow the TPad example replacing TPad info with the provider's info.
